The founder

Dr. Verlaine Issaka Dangnossi

Founder & Non-Executive Director

Strategic direction and institutional stewardship, separate from daily operations.

Dr. Verlaine Issaka Dangnossi is the Founder and Non-Executive Director of AfriCore Advisory Group. He brings more than 15 years of international experience at the intersection of political affairs, governance, peace and security, development coordination, institutional reform and strategic engagement, including extensive experience within the United Nations system and in complex political and institutional environments.

Throughout his international career, Dr Dangnossi has worked across diverse political, institutional and development environments spanning West Africa and the Sahel, the Great Lakes region, the Middle East, Western Europe and North America. He has worked at the intersection of governments, international organisations, development partners and other institutional stakeholders, supporting efforts related to political dialogue, governance, institutional strengthening, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, development coordination and the implementation of complex programmes.

His professional experience combines political analysis, strategic advisory, institutional engagement and programme coordination. He has operated in sensitive and rapidly evolving environments where effective decision-making requires a strong understanding of political dynamics, institutional realities, stakeholder interests and the broader international context. This experience has enabled him to engage with senior institutional stakeholders and to translate complex political and operational realities into practical strategies, coordinated action and sustainable institutional solutions.

Drawing on this experience, Dr Dangnossi founded AfriCore Advisory Group as an independent African advisory platform designed to bring together African contextual knowledge, international standards and senior-level strategic expertise. AfriCore reflects his conviction that effective advisory support must be context-sensitive, politically informed, institutionally credible and focused on practical results.

As Founder and Non-Executive Director, Dr Dangnossi provides strategic direction, institutional stewardship and senior advisory insight to AfriCore. His role includes contributing to the firm's long-term vision, professional standards, intellectual positioning and strategic relationships, while remaining separate from its day-to-day operational management.

AfriCore's engagements are managed operationally by its Director of Operations and delivered through the Global Expert Network, mobilised according to the specific requirements of each assignment. This model enables AfriCore to combine senior strategic oversight with flexible, specialised and context-specific expertise.

Dr Dangnossi holds a Doctorate in International Law and has built his career around the understanding of political, institutional and development dynamics across Africa and the wider international system.

What makes us different

A boutique firm with a clear mandate.

We are

  • An African boutique strategic advisory firm
  • An independent source of political and institutional analysis
  • A senior counterpart for governments and international partners
  • A firm with a lean institutional structure, strong governance, and expertise mobilised by assignment
  • A catalyst for institutional transformation

We are not

  • A lobbying firm
  • A political influence practice
  • A private security company
  • A generalist consulting house
  • A research bureau that delivers a report and disappears
The combination

What makes the work different.

The comparative advantage is the combination: African contextual intelligence, international experience, political and geopolitical analysis, institutional expertise, and senior-level advisory. Any one of these exists elsewhere. Together, they are how AfriCore works.

  • African contextual intelligence

How institutions, political settlements, and operating environments on the continent actually function.

  • International experience

Professional standards and practice drawn from multilateral, governmental, and advisory work beyond a single market.

  • Senior advisory

Counsel calibrated to ministers, ambassadors, executives, and institutional counterparts discreet and independent.

Ethics & integrity

Trust is the centre of the practice.

Governments, international organisations, and partners grant access because the work is discreet and independent. That is non-negotiable.

  • Integrity

We act honestly and consistently, even when the context is politically sensitive.

  • Independence

Our advice is independent. We are not a lobbying firm and we do not sell influence.

  • Confidentiality

Sensitive political and institutional information is handled with discretion.

  • Accountability

We take responsibility for the quality, relevance, and professionalism of our work.

  • Compliance

We maintain zero tolerance for corruption and respect applicable legal and ethical standards.

  • Professionalism

We bring rigour, respect, and care to every client relationship.

Institutional platforms

Four complementary expressions of the mission.

AfriCore is designed as a flexible and evolving institutional platform. Over time, the organisation will progressively develop four complementary platforms, creating an integrated ecosystem for strategic advisory, research, leadership development and high-level dialogue. This progressive model allows AfriCore to build institutional depth and credibility while remaining agile and responsive to the needs of its partners.

  • AfriCore Advisory

Provides strategic advisory and institutional support to governments, international organisations, development partners, businesses and civil society organisations facing complex challenges and transformation priorities.

  • AfriCore Institute

Produces research, policy analysis, strategic foresight and knowledge products designed to inform decision-making and deepen understanding of Africa’s evolving political, institutional and development landscape.

  • AfriCore Leadership Academy

Provides executive education, leadership development and capacity-building programmes for public and private sector leaders navigating complex institutional and strategic environments.

  • AfriCore Strategic Forum

Convenes leaders, experts, researchers and international partners through high-level dialogues, forums, conferences and communities of practice focused on strategic issues affecting Africa and the wider international system.
